History

The Society was originally founded as the Ghost Tracker's Club but changed their name to the Ghost Research Society in 1982.[1]

Investigations

The Ghost Research Society began investigations in the early 1980s and has looked into many famous cases including those at Bachelor's Grove Cemetery.[1] Dale Kaczmarek, the current president, became so in 1982.[2] From the outset of its investigations the society has endeavored to use technology.[3] In 1994, the organisation collaborated with the American Society for Psychical Research to produce the National Directory of Haunted Places.[4]

Current status

Though the group is based in Oak Lawn, Illinois,[2] they have an international membership.[1] The society produces a quarterly newsletter called the Ghost Tracker's Newsletter[1] and gives bus tours of Chicago's supposedly haunted locations.[5]
